While I was on my first paper route today, I saw some idiot in a car run over a cat crossing the street.

Fortunately, there was a lull in traffic after the incident and I managed to bring the still-twitching body over to the sidewalk, but it was conclusively dead.

It's a bit much to take less than a week after losing our dog Rose...

In case people wonder, no, I did not get the license plate of the car that did it, nor did I notice what colour or make of car it was.
(though I did do a bit of crying on the rest of that route. I'm not sure I'll ever look at random animal deaths the same ever again)

I'm not sure how I ran across this cartoon, but Warner Brothers' show Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs (or Animaniacs for short), which ran from 1993 until 1998, and did parodies of hundreds of shows and songs, as well as being quite original themselves.
Very educational, as well as being very entertaining.

The Animaniacs consist primarily of the Warner Brothers Yakko (the older brother) and Wakko (the younger brother), and the Warner Sister, Princess Angelina Contessa Louisa Francesca Banana Fanna Bo Besca the Third, also known as Dot (but call her Dotty and you die, apparently).
Opposite to them is Doctor Scratchansniff, the studio psychologist, and Hello Nurse, the studio nurse, in addition to several other annoyed characters.

  • Macadamia Nut
The Animaniacs' version of the Macarana.
  • Hello Nurse!
The Warner Brothers (but not Dot) extol the virtues of the studio nurse.
  • Jokahontas
The Animaniacs parody almost everything Disney has ever done.
  • You Risk Your Life!
The Animaniacs parody of Groucho Marx's You Bet Your Life.
  • The Monkey Song
The Animaniacs parody of Harry Belafonte's Monkey Song.
  • This Pun for Hire
A parody of The Maltese Falcon in the film noir style, with their usual comedic flair.
  • The Sound of Warners - part 2
The Animaniacs parody of The Sound of Music.
  • Star Truck
The Warners visit the Enterprise in place of the Star Fleet ambassadors, who were too busy.
  • Ballad of Magellan
The Warners sing about the voyages of Magellan.
  • The Panama Canal
The Warners sing about the Panama Canal.
  • Who's On Stage?
Slippy Squirrel and Aunt Slappy do their take on Who's On First, with the bands "Yes", "Who", and "The Band".

I've spent several days browsing around YouTube finding highly amusing clips from the show, and have even found out that you can get the first three volumes of the show on DVD.

However, it seems that Warner Brothers is not interested in releasing any more of the series.
No idea why, as it was very entertaining.
Not even sure why they cancelled it, as it's so much better than the junk you see on TV these days...
