I think I just figured out why I have such a hard time trying to write my resume.
Or anything else for that matter.

My seven years of university taught me that everything I wrote down for a paper of any sort MUST have evidence, sources, and citations to back it up, and if I couldn't prove it by citing someone else's work, I couldn't write it. Period.

This sort of thing appears to have caused me some problems in the resume and creative writing departments.
I have some sort of mental block about writing anything that isn't even partially cited.

Part of me knows that resumes don't need citations, but the problem is that it's not the part of me that actually tries to write them.

Now that I know this, however, I think I can figure out how to get around the problem.

Silly requirement. Our remote ancestors couldn't do that.

It took me until fairly late in life to get *into* the habbit of doing that.

Does this affect other things you write? Forum & LJ posts and E-mails?

Well the CTC forms are a place where one would never stand out as a jerk... Too much competition.

By saying "Too much competition" I certainly wasn't implying that any specific person is a jerk, and yes I have friends on the forums too.

...minus one who was attacked in spectacularly similar fashion to the way *I* was and no longer posts there. It doesn't take much to drop out of favour with them. How can you be so sure it wont happen to you?

Out of curiosity... my post above was made nearly a week and a half ago... has something happened recently that made you keen to respond now?

Think of the resume as your works cited list. This is where you're giving credence to the statement that "I deserve to work for you [citation needed]."

Just list the key ones. Though it would not be a bad idea to make a CD or portfolio showing off some of your work, that you can leave with interviewers.
