Siggraph 2011
Aug. 6th, 2011 03:46 amThe largest computer graphics convention in the world is just around the corner, both time-wise and distance-wise this year.
It starts on Sunday, August 7 and runs until Thursday, August 11, and is situated in the Vancouver Convention Centre, right near two Skytrain stations.
I'll officially be attending on Sunday (for a pair of "Birds-of-a-Feather" events put on by the Blender Foundation from 2pm to 6pm) and Monday (for the exhibit hall), and if there's anything left I want to see (that doesn't involve a $1270 ticket) I'll visit again on Wednesday and possibly Thursday.
(a Basic day pass is only $45, a much more palatable price. Also, since my newspapers have been late on Thursdays in the last couple of weeks, arriving as late as 8:30pm, Thursday is more-or-less free)
Specifically I'll be there for the Blender presence, though I'll also have a look at the other booths, and might even make up some business cards to hand around.
I'll also be taking pictures of the surrounding area for my DA gallery, as people seemed to enjoy the last batch I uploaded.
(I'm hoping to get some more evening shots again, this time with less blur, I hope...)
Wish me luck...
