As a test to see what kind of greebles I can make and what make the S.C. look "better", I created the following image:

It doesn't seem to look much better here, does it?

My problem is that technically, when Mark draws the S.C. in the comic, it's almost always without details (as are greebles, technically), so I don't have anything to draw inspiration from with regards to the strip.
However, my brother pointed out that with technology as advanced as it must be by then, they'd have everything behind access panels, so there shouldn't be anything like cables, boxes, or the like out in plain sight.

Perhaps part of the problem is the fact that the strip is very sparsely detailed in the first place. If you take a step back and look at how much detail (i.e. background, shading, highlighting, color contrasting, fine object detail, etc.) goes into the comic strip, you'll see that it really isn't all that much.

I wouldn't get too bogged down in detail on the S.C. Keep it simple, and keep the background simple. Don't make the angles so sharp & clean--chisel them down a bit. If you want to add more to this, make it look more run-down, more "ghetto".

It's cool that you're learning more & more about 3D modelling in blender.

Yeah, I mean the corners shouldn't be so clean and sharp--I would round them down somewhat (bevel, I guess). But that's just my take--it's your model. ;)
