I've started to take more pictures with my KI (a D'ni communication device), and these two were so lovely, they just had to be shown off:

One of the many reasons I love playing the Myst series of games is the sheer beauty of the worlds created by Cyan Worlds.
Every game seems to be even more eye-catching and wondrous than before.

Uru Live is no exception to this, and as you can directly take pictures of the world in-game, and (with a bit of tweaking) extract the images and (slightly) improve the colours, you can take pictures of the world that you can share with others!

There is a thread on the official Myst Online: Uru Live forums specifically for showing off pictures of Uru, most of them with some tweaking to improve the realism, but it doesn't take much to have them looking very pretty.

I haven't played a Myst game since Myst III: Exile. I was scared away by reports of how slow other entries were, and any game where you could see your character was not a Myst game in (as it were) my book.

Uru (and all its variants) has a first-person option, but defaults to third-person at each launch.
(there might be a command-line option for it, though I haven't checked)

It has the added advantage of being free again...
(a pull that I, at least, cannot resist)

I have heard so-called horror stories about how difficult Myst IV: Revelation's puzzles were, but have yet to find out for myself.
Whereas Myst V: End of Ages was very enjoyable, if a little tricky.

I don't know about the difficulty of IV, but a reviewer who enjoyed the series as a whole sadly gave it a 4.5 out of 10.

I'll see if V is playable on my PC.

Sometimes it's hard to tell what goes into the rating.
Some reviewers rate based on difficulty, some on story, others on believability, still others on consistency.

I've learned that I don't usually agree with reviews.

Reading from the box:

• Windows XP (you can run it under Windows 7 or Vista, but you have to copy it from an XP installation first. Something about mis-detected hardware causing run-time issues)
• Minimum 256MB RAM
• 32MB DirectX 9.0c graphics card
• 800MHz Pentium 3 or better CPU

Pretty much any computer built within the last four years ought to run it just fine.
