Busy, busy, busy...
Jul. 31st, 2007 09:46 pmI've been doing a range of things since my last entry, so maybe I'll list a bunch of them for the moment without going into too much detail:
Aside from this, there isn't much else to say, except that when I was updating the kernel on my desktop computer, something went wrong and the graphical desktop wouldn't load anymore, even when I tried re-installing the nVidia drivers.
Right now I'm personalizing a copy of Ubuntu 7.04, Edgy Eft for use as my main machine (I'd been using Ubuntu 6.06, Dapper Drake previously), though I hope I won't have as many problems with software incompatibilities this time around...
- I'm designing yet another scene in Blender, this time specifically for a game that I've been designing in various forms over the last few years. It's an underground cavern that acts like a gateway to a secured area, so far with two measures of security (a door and a drawbridge, both of which have passwords/codes). Images will be up eventually, though I don't have much to show right now. I've been keeping text notes about this cavern on my PDA, we'll see how well that works...
- So far my second-hand PalmIII PDA seems to be doing alright, though I've been having some difficulties with the display cutting out on occasion. I've found a lot of free software for it, including some games, though I haven't found anything that lets me develop software for it yet.
- For the last two days my brother and I have been helping my aunt with the horse barn she shares with (I think) two other people. Under our grandfather's direction we're building a roof across the front of the main barn so the horses have someplace to stand when to keep from getting rained on when it's wet. Talk about hot work! Fortunately, though, there is some shade nearby for when we need a break...
