We have a place to move into!

After losing the lease on our house two and a half months ago, we've finally found another one to move into! Yay! =^.^=
Known features include:
We get the keys on Wednesday, the 15th, and the plan is to do a walk-through that day, planning where things will go, then move the majority of things in on the Saturday after, leaving me in the current place as an extra security measure.
Then, the Saturday after that, we move everything else over.
That should give us extra time to deal with putting things in place, acclimatizing pets to the new place, all that sort of stuff.
Known features include:
- A dead-end street, so no through-traffic.
- Two floors, no attic rooms, so no more sloped ceilings for me! =^.^=
- The street it's on is sloped a bit (or so I'm told, I haven't actually seen the place myself yet), so the backyard at least is terraced.
- A wood fireplace on each floor, similar to what we have now.
- A landlady who actually listens, which is a great advantage over our last landlady. (well, her husband technically)

Date: 2015-04-12 11:07 am (UTC)Do you have your own car, or is this place near public transport? From memory I recall being able to walk from a Skytrain station to your old home.

Also, we have the advantage of being closer to, but further along, a major bus route, so if there's a problem, it'll actually be more feasible to take the bus to work now.
(three blocks possible vs twelve)
The nearest SkyTrain station is dozens of blocks away, are you sure you didn't take a bus from there to here?... =0.o=

Date: 2015-04-13 03:51 am (UTC)Nevertheless it's not entirely impossible that I may have walked all the way from a Skytrain station. I love walking - just ask Old Wolf.
My fursona too likes to travel on foot as much as possible. There was a gag sequence I wanted to use in my webcomic involving Patrick's car. The first part would have been very shortly after the comic's abrupt indefinite hiatus, in the phone conversation they were about to have.
Patrick: "Good news! I've put the car back together again!"
Michael: "No Patrick... Good news would be a promise I won't be riding the next time it explodes."
Patrick: "Hey no fair! You weren't riding in it the last THREE times it exploded!"
Then later (about 5 years in non-comic, real world time) they're driving back to the street where they both live. Patrick points to the building Michael lives in.
Patrick: "Here we are! Nearly at-"
There's a small explosion from the motor and the hood is flipped up.
Patrick: [downturned mouth and looking around the hood at the smoke.] "...Journey's end..."
Michael offers to phone for a tow truck but Patrick is too proud to accept it, as he takes out his toolkit to fix the motor. Michael decides to hop (kanga) the rest of the way.
Patrick: "Are you sure?"
Michael: "Mom didn't give me these legs to win beauty contests."
There's a 1 frame silence as Michael starts hopping away. Then in the next frame:
Patrick: [To himself] "Glad to know it."

Date: 2015-04-12 08:36 pm (UTC)We'd been given three months (above the two required by law) to vacate, and they've spent almost the entire time searching for another place.
We made it just down to three weeks or so left, so it's been quite a relief to actually have one now. =^.^=

Date: 2015-05-01 05:13 pm (UTC)I'll be posting another journal entry once I have the time. Right now, my room is about packed with boxes, my desk is still in pieces, and my clothes need to be unpacked so I can use them.
