Yup, I tinker!
Jan. 2nd, 2008 05:36 pmWhile the saying "I tinker, therefore I am" doesn't completely define me, it does explain many of my actions.
For example, a while ago I purchased a really cheap laser pointer (for a dollar, no less) and found out that it was defective (and I'm fairly sure that this store doesn't do returns).
(for those of you interested, the spring contact for the batteries that was supposed to connect to the switch had been broken off when I got it and therefore wouldn't let the current flow)
Yesterday after some tinkering with a small strip of paper, part of a paperclip, two pairs of pliers, and bright light I managed to get it working again, although it was not a foolproof fix.
I've also tinkered with many other devices, usually because they haven't been working, either properly or at all, with some degree of success.
My next project, when I find time to attempt it, is to fix a fairly inexpensive LED flashlight I have that has stopped working...
